We have been learning all about sound. We investigated materials to see which materials sound travels through and which materials block out sounds. We designed and made earmuffs using different materials to block out sound.

We have been learning all about the Vikings. We learnt lots of interesting facts about Viking longships. We learnt that up to 100 Vikings could travel in these boats at one time. Longships could sail in shallow water which meant that the Vikings could travel up rivers as well as across the sea. The ships were built in a way that meant the Vikings could change direction without having to turn the boat around. We used cardboard and worked in groups to create our own Viking longships. We painted our boats and added a sail and some shields just like the Vikings had on their boats. Have a look at us working hard on our longship constructions. Don't our longships look fantastic? In English we have been learning how to write instructions and recipes. We wrote recipes for making rice krispie buns. We started by listing the ingredients and equipment needed. Then we wrote out the method - this is the steps followed to make the buns. Have a look at the photos to see all the fun we had making the cakes.
Take a look at our fantastic Halloween artwork. We learned about warm colours and cool colours. We used warm colours such as red and orange or cool colours such as blue and purple to create a spooky sky background for our pictures. We cut out a silhouette of a haunted house from black paper. We tried to make them as scary looking as possible. Finally, we added some detail using yellow paper. Don’t our houses look terrifying?!
