We have been learning all about the Romans in class. We learned of how gruesome the Romans were! They used to share public baths and even washed their hair in their own urine!! We did a lot of research on the Romans using the link below. We also watched some Horrible Histories which was great fun! In art we created Roman shields and we completed fantastic projects. Check them out below!
We could see the Supermoon here in Swords last night. We decided to create our own supermoons using a "tint and shade" technique. We selected one colour paint, and using our knowledge of mixing paints we created a tonal colour wheel behind the moon. We then, used black paper to create shadows in the moon at night.
This week in school we have discussed the importance of building positive friendships in school. We talked about the qualities that makes a good friend. We decided to make a friendship tree display to remind us of how we are all friends. We placed our pictures inside flowers as, "friends are like flowers in the garden of life". We then wrote how we can work together as friends on the leaves of the tree.
In the month of November we remember the day of "All Saints" and "All Souls". It is a time when we remember those people dear in our lives who have passed away. We all wrote letters to loved ones who have passed away. We talked about questions we might have for our dear ones and also wrote personal letters to them to let them know they are still an important part in our lives. We will think of them every day.
