Skippy and Anna are locked in a room at the top of a large castle. There are five other locked rooms to go through to get out. The key to that room, and all the other rooms, is a number. The numbers are locked away in problems. The number is the key to that room. Can you help them to get out. When the solution to each room is posted in a comment the next problem will appear on the blog.

Room 1

There is a pile of dice. Three of them are taken and put in a row. The numbers on the top of these three dice add to 8.
What do the hidden numbers on the bottom add to?

This number is the first key.

5, 2, 1 on top adds to 8
2, 5, 6 on the bottom adds to 13
I picked 521 because they add to 8.
2 is on the bottom when 5 is on top
5 is on the bottom when 2 is on top
1 is on the bottom when 6 is on top.
This works for every set of numbers that add to 8 and always gives an answer of 13 on the bottom.

All the numbers that are underneath add up to 13 and all the top add up to 8. So it doesn't matter what goes on top as long as it adds up to 8.

Every time the top adds up to 8 the bottom adds up to 13 so I think the key is 13

I picked 1, 2, 6 because they add to 8 and the numbers on the bottom are 6. 5, 1 and these add to 13. Every time the numbers on top add up to 8 the numbers on the bottom add up to 13.

All numbers add up to 7 so for example: if 1 is at the top and 6 is at the bottom they add up to 7 becuase 1+6 is 7.So if you say that 5+1+2 is at the top (it adds up to 8) then the bottom numbers are 2+6+5 which is 13 so the answer is 13.
