Today we got our Christmas holidays in school. We all wore our Christmas jumpers, even Miss Quinn!!! We had a talent show in our classroom. Some boys even performed Tai Qwando!!
We thought about what life would be like if we worked as Santa's elves. We wrote a job application for an ideal elf. We also imagined what life would be like if we were Santa. We wrote creative stories and then we created elf and Santa characters to display our stories.
We imagined what life would be like if we lived in a snowglobe. We described our life there. We then illustrated ourselves in the snowglobe, coloured them in using oil pastels and painted over using a wash of blue paint. We spray painted them glitter on top to create a frosted look.
Previously, we studied the famous painting "Starry, Starry Night", created by the famous dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh. We interpreted his painting to paint our own Christmas version. We copied Van Goghs swirly paintbrush technique to capture a snowman on a windy night which we called, "Snowman Starry Night".
