We have been learning all about Nelson Mandela and his fight for freedom in history. We created projects on Nelson Mandela. We also drew a portrait of Nelson Mandela using black and white pencil.
We have had lots of fun in school preparing for Halloween! We imagined what it would be like if we spent a night in a haunted house. We discussed what we might see, feel and hear there. We wrote our stories on folded paper in the shape of haunted houses and then decorated them! They looked great displayed in the school corridors!
For our Halloween Art we created Picasso Monster Heads! We looked at how the famous artist Pablo Picasso paints portraits. He is famous for being the co-founder of Cubism which is a style of painting where objects of the painting subjects are broken up and re-painted in abstract form. On the last day of school before our mid-term break we learned about the history of Halloween and we played some Halloween games. In our groups we had a competition to see who could wrap themselves up as a mummy the quickest!! It was very funny to see everyone wrapped in toilet roll!!!
