Active Schools
Active School Flag (ASF) is a Department of Education and Skills initiative which recognises schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. St. Cronan’s SNS is currently applying for the Active School Flag and is in the final stage of the application, which requires a lot of work. The ASF is a whole school process and schools are encouraged to look towards parents, the local community and outside agencies to participate in the ASF process. Parents that are interested in helping out in any way during this process will be warmly welcomed.
WOW is a scheme which aims to promote walking to school on a regular basis. Where the child lives too far from the school to walk the whole way, we would encourage pupils to park a distance away from the school and stride the rest of the way. We want as many children as possible to walk to school.
WOW has been hugely successful this March. Thanks to all who have been participating in this worthwhile initiative!
