Athletics is over for another year and what a year it has been! Our new athletics team trained very hard all year with practice every Monday and the hard work paid off on finals day at Morton Stadium in Santry on May 1st. Our team competed in the Fingal Athletics League competition over five different race days which started in November where children competed against other schools to obtain points for their school. The athletics team trained for long distance running by learning pacing skills and also for sprinting so we could build up speed towards the finish line! A lot of our team came in the top three on finals day and made our school very proud. We were all delighted to show off our shiny medals on the bus home after a brilliant (but very rainy) day! We hope everyone will have their running shoes ready for next year and tryouts will start again in September!
