GAA 2025/2026
,The 2025/2026 school year has been a very special year for GAA in Scoil Chrónáin. Our focus, as always, is on participation and enjoyment but this school year we have enjoyed a lot of success too!
Camogie

It has been an incredible year for camogie in the school. The team made the finals of both the Fingal League and Cumann na mBunscol competitions. The girls performed heroically in both finals. There is no doubt that they will inspire the younger girls to follow in their footsteps.

Girls Gaelic Football

It has been another great year for our Senior Girls football team. We had a good campaign in the Fingal Leagues which ended in a fantastic final in Parnell Park on the 19th of May. Unfortunately, we came out on the wrong side of an epic final with a one point loss. Well done girls, best of luck in secondary school and keep up the football with your clubs!

Boys Gaelic Football

It has been another very competitive year for the Senior Boys Team. After winning all their group games, they were narrowly beaten in the semi-final of the Cumann na mBunscol competition in the autumn.
Having lost the Fingal league Final after a replay last year, the team was promoted to a higher division. The boys competed very well and still managed to get to the semi-final of the competition where they were beaten by a very good Rolestown NS team. Well done boys! Hurling
The boys hurling team had a fantastic year yet again and represented the school proudly in all five games. The team emerged from their group defeating Gaelscoil Bhaile Brigín, Howth PS, and St. Fintan's NS Sutton with ease and racking up impressive score lines in all games. The quarter final fixture against Gaelscoil Míde was perhaps the team's greatest performance as we saw some wonderful team play, passing and a spread of scorers from all over the field. The boys' campaign would come to an and at the semi-final stage when they were edged out by a terrific St. Francis Xavier SNS team. Clawing back an eight point deficit at the half-time break, the boys were eventually beaten by a single point. Throughout the entire competition, the panel of 20 players wore the Cronans jerseys with pride. They were always gracious in both victory and defeat, and their performances embodies the sporting spirit of our school. As mentors, it was a pleasure to coach and watch the boys play this year. Whether training in cold and wet conditions or playing matches on beautiful Spring days, each player played with effort, determination and team spirit. Well done all!
